Exploring Prayer

For the next 5 weeks we will be exploring prayer as a church. Sadly, not as we had initially planned as a PCC, with study groups and events due to Covid -19 restrictions, but on our own, or in our households, or maybe through conversations with others and through our online Sunday services. In this time of pandemic, when prayer is one of most googled word, it seemed right that we continued with our focus on prayer.

We will be using the Archbishop of Canterbury’s series on exploring prayer as the basis. He has produced 5 videos, which can be found following this link.

If you don’t have access to the internet and would like transcripts, give me a ring and we can print them for you.

The themes are:
7th June- Asking God - https://www.archbishopofcanterbury.org/exploring-prayer/1
14th June- Learning to Lament- https://www.archbishopofcanterbury.org/exploring-prayer/2
21st June- Saying sorry - https://www.archbishopofcanterbury.org/exploring%20-prayer/3
28th June- giving thanks - https://www.archbishopofcanterbury.org/exploring-prayer/4
5th July- wonder- https://www.archbishopofcanterbury.org/exploring-prayer/5

Each week, the Sunday service will focussed on this aspect of prayer, and I then encourage you to watch the accompanying video (or read the transcript) and ponder these questions:
What does this aspect of prayer mean to me?
What does this aspect of prayer mean to the church?
What does this aspect of prayer mean in the context of coronavirus?

I hope you are enriched, encouraged and gentled challenged as we explore prayer together over the next few weeks. I will be very pleased to hear from you as we explore prayer together.
With my prayer and best wishes
