Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East.

In Jordan we are looking after 500 Christian Iraqi refugee families. Currently, the Jordanian government does not permit Iraqi refugees to work so we provide them with shelter and food via a weekly voucher scheme. In 2015 we founded a school in Marka, a suburb of Amman, which still educates 175 pupils (N.B. we stopped funding the school at the end of 2016).

Our reconciliation work is focused on bridging the sectarian divide through interfaith dialogue. As well as supporting grassroots organisations in the Middle East, we also set up an annual summer school – The Jerusalem International School for Reconciliation (JISR) – which introduces a new generation to the power and methods of reconciliation. Speakers at JISR have included former Israeli Ambassador to the UK, Daniel Taub, and Sheikh Imad Falouji, former-founding member of Hamas.
